Love Rhapsody

Love Rhapsody, Emma's first CD, was released by MOVE Records in 2002 (MCD 211).

Emma recorded most of the tracks 'live' to give the album the feisty spontaneous sound of a live gig. By choosing a wide selection of material the album takes the listener through many emotions, the theme being the cycle of love. Self penned compositions Love Rhapsody, Changeable Day and Lament sit well alongside many well known tunes.

Emma's favourite on the album was also the most challenging, Blues for Breakfast.

Blues for Breakfast is beyond sad, my tribute to the wonderful artistry and surprisingly touching vocal skills of George Shearing.   Emma says.

Reviews

You don't get much more beautiful than that.   Rick James, 88.3 Southern FM
Emma Sidney wastes no time in seducing the listener on LOVE RHAPSODY. Sidney has an appealing style which is lifted by the subtle piano of Todd Sidney and some wonderful bass and brass.    Chris Copas, The Star
Emma has a nice easy style whether swinging the standards or interpreting a slow ballad. A fine effort from all concerned and I'm sure this will be the first of many CDs from Emma.    Don Brow, Jazz Scene, September 2002
